Buying one new accessory can inspire a tired old wardrobe and give you the change you need. If you're broke, try buying just a new handbag or colorful scarf.

When you're tired of your wardrobe and too broke for a makeover, one new accessory can be all the change you need. A colorful scarf, silver barrette, big hoop earrings or stylish new bag can breathe more life into your entire wardrobe than any other single piece of clothing. If you buy a new blouse, you're only going to wear it now and then, but that new bag can be shown off every day.

The other great thing about accessories is you don't have to worry much about fit, meaning no agonizing moments of discovery in the dressing room. All you have to do is look for something you find beautiful.

A new scarf can inspire you to look at your tired old clothes with a fresh eye. Maybe you've never thought of paring those pants with that shirt until you saw how great it looked with the scarf tied as a belt. Or the black tee shirt dress you think of as beach cover-up can suddenly stand on its own at a nightclub with flashy new hoop earrings.

Accessories are inspiring, affordable and fun ways to feel beautiful. Beauty doesn't always have to be about some painful, messy, goopy routine you do closeted in the bathroom by yourself.

Unfortunately, a lot of it is that way, but when you finally emerge waxed, fluffed and tan, you'll deserve a lovely new treat to accompany you out on the town. So go out and buy something beautiful for yourself.

Trevy Thomas :
Belts are one of those things I used to feel I needed in two colors. Like a man, I had one black and one brown one. Actually, I'm not much better today, but I realize how dull that is and what punch a unique belt can bring to an outfit. If you have a favorite belt, let us know what it looks like and whether you just love it in your closet or actually get a lot of use from it.
