This is the hottest holiday look this season. Paint the holiday green with a smokey eye look!

Holiday parties are a great time to branch out from your everyday makeup look to something a little more glamorous and different. Try something new, whether it is a new eye color, new lipstick, or a new look entirely.

This following look is made up of neutral colors with the added touch of an emerald green eye shadow. This look will work for everyone but will be best on those with brown or blue eyes. For green eyes, just change the color. Instead, try a bright violet purple eye shadow.

Products needed:

  • Eye shadows in vanilla shimmer, taupe brown and emerald green shimmer
  • Olive Green eyeliner
  • Black mascara or false eyelashes
  • Neutral blush, one's perfect shade
  • Neutral lip liner
  • Shimmery clear lip gloss
  • Makeup brushes

For the eyes:

  1. Once the foundation, concealer and light coverage of powder has been applied, apply the vanilla shimmer eye shadow to the brow bone and the inner corner of the eye.
  2. Then apply the taupe brown eye shadow (make sure this color is matte). Apply the brown eye shadow starting at the lash line and blending up to the vanilla eye shadow. Blend well.
  3. Next apply the olive green eyeliner to the top lashes. Get as close to the lashes as possible. (However, if planning to wear false eye lashes, use black eyeliner instead of green.) Also line one-third of the bottom lashes.
  4. With the emerald green shimmer shadow, apply the color to the lid of the eye. Blend with the taupe brown. Also apply to the bottom lashes, blending with the eyeliner and the vanilla shimmer eye shadow.
  5. Add three coats of mascara or a set of false eyelashes.

For the cheeks:

  1. Apply a neutral shade of blush to the cheek bones. The perfect shade for one will usually be different for another. The best way to find the perfect shade of blush is to match the natural flush of the cheeks.

For the lips:

  1. Because the eyes will be the most dramatic feature, it is best to play down the lips with a very neutral lip.
  2. Line the lips with the neutral lip liner and fill in the lips as well. This will help the lip products to stay on longer.
  3. Using a lip brush, apply a clear shimmery lip gloss to the lips.

In the evening bag, make sure to pack blotting tissues, pressed powder, lip gloss and of course a small handheld mirror.
