Get rid of dry, flaky skin with these simple beauty tips. Smooth, creamy skin is easy to have when the process is this pleasurable.

Itchy flaky dry skin is not only ugly, but uncomfortable as well. When I see someone madly scratching in public, I want to take a step back -- a big step. There's no need to let a dry skin condition shorten your social life. You just need a course of action.

Summer heat supposedly causes dryer skin than winter, but I find the opposite to be true. That may be partly because skin is more exposed in the summer, thereby demanding better attention.

You probably smooth on a an extra dose of skin cream when your legs are exposed in a summer skirt or shorts. Winter skin has the same need for moisture, but if you choose to ignore it, no one will be the wiser. Sadly, that's temptation for neglect.

Lotions are easier to find than creams, but not nearly as effective. Creams are beginning to be more prevalent, but mostly in pricy selections. In my opinion, they're worth it over the cheaper, watery lotions whose temporary moisture quickly evaporates.

Creams come in squatty jars that are lovely to dip into. Thick fragrant cream is as tempting as an éclair, only without the calories. It feels lovely to spread on, and is much more fun that old fashioned lotion.

Choose a good, thick cream with quality ingredients and a scent you find appealing so that regular application will be enjoyable. If you can find time for a daily bubble bath, add a good dose of bath oil to the water.

This alone goes a long way toward mending dry skin. Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that a professional massage does wonders for dry skin. What more excuse do you need for a little self-indulgence?
