You wake up and feel entirely too well rested...what happened to the alarm?! With only minutes to spare, you have to get presentable and get out the door. Here's how.

For those who aren't morning people, getting ready to face the day isn't easy. When the alarm goes off or one presses snooze too many times, it's that much harder to get out the door looking pulled together. Here's how to get ready - and still look great - in 30 minutes or less.

Quick shower

When one is in a hurry, there is no time for a leisurely, steamy shower. A few modifications to the usual routine will save a lot of time, however. Skip washing hair - this is usually the most time consuming aspect of showering, not to mention the time it adds for hair styling afterward. Soap and rinse quickly, and consider skipping shaving as well. Men can get away with a little stubble, and women can choose to wear pants. If a skirt is necessary, a woman can shave only the lower portion of her legs, where hair grows fastest. Most likely, no one will notice that certain corners were cut.

Makeup and hair in a hurry

While getting ready fast, it's best to skip heavy or complicated makeup. Instead of foundation, opt for a tinted moisturizer. Use an all over coloring stick to add warmth to cheeks eyes and lips to avoid digging around for multiple products. Most women swear by mascara as the one makeup item them cannot live without, so be sure not to skip it.

As for quick hairstyles, there are a couple of options. For those with especially oily hair, apply dry shampoo or baby powder to absorb excess oil. Brushing will add volume. Women with longer hair have the convenient option of pulling hair into a sleek ponytail or bun, however, they shouldn't get caught up with any sort of elaborate up-do.

Getting dressed quickly

Now is not the time to try out new clothing combinations. It's best to stick with a favorite outfit, or at least one that has been worn several times before. Aim for basic and comfortable - this is no time to have a 'fat moment' in front of the mirror. Avoid fussy clothing with lots of buttons or layers, which can be time consuming while dressing. The same can be said for hosiery or excessive jewelry.

Each step above shouldn't take more than 5 to 10 minutes. Allow a couple of extra minutes to gather essentials such as keys, wallet, etc. With no time left for breakfast, grab a portable yogurt or cereal bar on the way out the door. Don't be late!
