There are three crucial areas in a woman's appearance which can be fixed quickly for a polished look when time is in short supply: hair, eyebrows and lips.
Which woman hasn't had the experience: a sudden phone call, and unexpected appointment, a meeting at short notice? As fate will have it, all this has a tendency to happen at a "bad hair day". What to do to fix the problem zones and look slick and polished in two minutes flat? Hair Women might think that people, men or women alike, look at their legs, their face, their clothes. They do of course, but what makes the first impression is the hair. The trick to looking picture perfect is slicking it back. Whether the hair is long, short or something in between, whether it's straight or curly, the quick fix solution is to make it look like an impeccable helmet. Loads of gel and hairspry are called for, but that's allowed because this is an emergency and desperate situations require desperate measures. It's absolutely vital that not a single hair is out of place; that's where the hairspary comes in. One stray hair would ruin the whole picture of slick and polish. If the hair is very short, gel will do the trick. Otherwise a hairband or a barette or two will help hold the hair in place. Naturally, rigorously slicked back hair makes for quite a severe appearance. The look should be softened and counterbalanced with earrings matching the outfit. Eyebrows The importance of eyebrows should never be underestimated They frame the eye, define the expression and attract a lot of attention in a face. Therefore eyebrow care should be included in te daily routine, so that a quick fix in a pinch is not a problem. Eyebrows must be properly plucked and shaped at all times. Young women rarely have the problem, but older women might not notice, or expect, that eyebrows too turn grey and often sooner than the rest of the hair. Grey in the eyberows add years to the appearance, so regular eyebrow dying and tint is an absolute must. For the quick fix, eyebrows are brushed upwards and outwards with an eyebrow brush, which mustn't be missing from any makeup kit. They are kept in place with a bit of vaseline, body lotion or face cream, applied with the tip of the little finger. The cream not only keeps the eyebrows in place, but also adds a lovely sheen, which makes for a polished and glamorous look. Lips A good method to have perfectly shaped lips is to suffer through permanent makeup. It's not cheap and, athough icespray is applied, it still hurts. Otherwise, lipliner is a must. Light coloured face powder is quickly dusted over the lips, then lipliner is carefully applied. The color should be a shade darker than the natural lip color and the contour must be fine. Lip gloss rather than lip stick is to follow. The gloss will cling to the powder and not wear off too quickly. As the quick glamour look is practically make up free, lip gloss with a touch of gold, adds elegance to the appearance. The trick of this emergency beauty routine is to conjure up an image of utter care, cleanliness and elegant understatement. The last seconds are dedicated to spritzing on the favorite perfume and putting on the best smile.
