Warm weather is a good time to put down your blow dryer. You'll give your hair a break from the damaging heat, keep from sweating while getting ready and discover a new easier hairstyle. Let your hair dry naturally at least on occasion in the summer months. Here are a few tips to make you a natural hair drying convert.
First, allow a little extra time if your hair is thick. Unless you're a lifeguard, you probably don't want to go to work with wet hair, and thick hair takes longer to dry naturally. However, while your hair is drying itself, you can be doing other things, so you really don't lose any time.
Next, let it drip dry. Towel dried hair can create frizz, so comb your conditioned hair in the shower, put a towel around your shoulders (under the hair) and let it be while you do other things.
Choose the right styling products. Spray in your choice of styling aid (for curly hair, or to add shine, etc.) after showering. Use your fingertips or a comb to get the hair where you want it, including a part or little lift at the roots. Once your hair is dry, you can add an anti-frizz balm or spray to keep it looking good all day.
Accessorize. Bangs didn't turn out like you wanted? Pull them to the side and add a pretty clip. If it's really bad, fake hair is always a quick solution. The top of your hair is likely to be the most unruly style-wise, and accessories can help you change the look. However, after a few practice runs at natural hair drying, you'll find what works best for your hair and be able to mold it wet to ensure the best dry look for you.
