Hi, Myrica. How about a simple manicure? It would be easy enough to do for a group, and everyone needs nail attention of some sort. You wouldn't have to use colored nail polish, but a small plastic bowl of hot soapy (maybe lavender) water would soften skin & cuticles, then a quick file and massage with cream should take care of the rest. Let me know how it goes. Sounds like fun!

In response to Home Spa Treatments posted by trevy:Thanks Trevy, is there a particular skin cream or oil that you can recommend for a face or hand massage?

I really like the Molton Brown line. It is a little pricey, but does show good results. You could also look around for a product made from milk, which is kind to senior skin.

In response to Home Spa Treatments posted by trevy:Hi Trevy, I just wanted to let you know we had a great "pampering" evening. They loved the lavender hand soak and nearly everyone wanted a hand massage. The milk-based lotion was very nice. We also added a home-made facial composed of banana, yogurt, and honey. Thanks again!

That sounds soooo relaxing! I'm sorry I missed out on it, but you did a great job. I especially love the homemade facial idea. Thanks for keeping us posted.

In response to Home Spa Treatments posted by trevy:Hey Trevy! I was hoping you could help me... I'm throwing a spa-themed baby shower for my sister and about 35 other ladies, and I was thinking about doing an easy, low-maintenece "spa-activity" with all of our guests. I liked the manicure idea, but there are approx. 40 people coming... ugh! Any suggestions? Thanks SO MUCH for your help!

Hi,
It sounds like a fun idea to have a spa party, but I can see why you don't want to try to arrange for manicures for all those ladies. I do have a suggestion, but there will be an expense involved. I suggest hiring a couple of massage therapists who can come in with their special chairs (like you see in some malls) to do mini massages, maybe neck and shoulders, for everybody. That way, everyone can keep socializing until it's their turn for a massage. You could also take contributions to keep the cost down. I know I would enjoy it! Hope you have fun.
